New Countries Expand Biometric Authentication
The following countries have adopted biometric authentication on their identification documents:
- Portugal: their identity cards are finally contactless, in line with the rest of European countries
- Iraq: biometric passports are being issued to the population
- Honduras: new biometric passports after many years of waiting
- The Palestinian Authority: biometric passports are the most recent among the many different types of passports
